Writers Background
I graduated in physics from Manchester University in 1977. In 1988 I came into contact at the West London Buddhist Centre with the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order and I now practice in that tradition.
Though I live in Manchester I consider myself part of a lineage of buddhist writers that have arisen out of the West London Buddhist Centre. I was ordained in 1997 by Kamalashila, who founded the WLBC and is the author of ‘Meditation: Buddhist Way of Tranquility and Insight.’
I still visit the West London Buddhist Centre regularly to see my friends, in particular Paramananda, author of ‘Change Your Mind‘, ‘A Deeper Beauty‘, and ‘The Body‘, and Jinananda, author of ‘Warrior of Peace‘ and editor of ‘Wisdom Beyond Words‘ and ‘Who is the Buddha?‘, and co-editor of ‘What is the Dharma?’ and ‘Know Your Mind.’ I feel very grateful for contact with such an illustrious ‘lineage’ of writers at the WLBC. Their help, encouragement, and discussion, has been invaluable in my struggle to bring a book into the world.
